Limited edition print/Snow and stones, Brodgar, Orkney

A limited edition print from a watercolour painting by Orkney artist Jane Glue
printed on C-Type Matt paper in editions of 100 prints.

This picture is of part of The Ring of Brodgar against a background of The Hoy Hills covered in snow, a perfect subject! On this year the snow lay in the west mainland of Orkney for several weeks but strangely enough it was clear in Kirkwall and out to the east. For once I could drive out in the countryside safely to see the snow! A clever trick to create a snowscene when painting in watercolours is to leave areas of the paper blank with no paint.
