Limited edition print/Blackbirds and old bus in Hoy

A limited edition print from a mixed media painting by Orkney artist Jane Glue
printed on C-Type Matt paper in editions of 100 prints.

This old 1950's bus was abandoned at Lyness in Hoy several years ago by some travelling folk who used to own it. The bus sat in the field for many years but is now in pieces behind an old wartime building nearby. When I visited on this day there was a flock of blackbirds nesting in the roof so I included them in my picture. I used a lot of different papers to create the collage and texture for the bus and surrounding grass along with acrylics for the main part's of the painting. I then added in silver paint for the metal structure and small rounds of red felt for the side lights.
